GMAB has been teaching Dutch Language and Cultural Coaching workshops at the Bangalore office for 11 months and it is worth mentioning that the results were outstanding.
I always looked forward for a Saturday morning, because it was Dutch class day!!! Even though I had to travel about 20 kms on my 2 wheeler, I could not wait to go to the class and I always wanted to be ON-TIME, ‘coz that’s the Dutch way J … Thomas is a great teacher, he kept us interested in a totally alien language. I made 2 other good friends in the class. We used to pull each other’s leg, compete hard with studies and helped each other a lot!! Together with the teacher, we had nice learning and fun energy in the class!! It is best to get started as early as you can (it takes 6 months to, at least get familiar with the language and get an A2 certificate, which is very valuable in Netherlands), especially if you are going to Netherlands for work or study. Thomas teaches methodically, follow everything he says and you will get good hold on the language, he is the BEST! He knows what he is doing, so just blindly do everything he advises, like doing all the homework, preparing well for the tests, concentrate during the classes and at the end of it you feel you know a lot of Dutch. He not only teaches the language but also the Dutch ways of life, little DOs and DONTs, the anecdotes, their food, culture .
I learnt Dutch for little more than 6 months and I understand most of what they speak, I can read all the mails I get, which will mostly be in Dutch!! Even though learning a new language can be quite a challenge, it was pleasant and memorable days learning Dutch!! I definitely recommend the Dutch roof, because who else can teach “Nederlands” like a Dutch can?! Only thing I regret is not joining sooner, for I could have completed my B1 level too!!!
